Status:

Summary:
Resolution No. 24, Series of 2026 orders the temporary suspension of the operations of the “Naic Food Park” pending full compliance with legal, regulatory, contractual, and taxation requirements. The Sangguniang Bayan cited provisions of the Local Government Code of 1991 which empower local government units to regulate business activities and ensure proper use of public property. It was found that the food park was being operated by a private entity on a portion of public land near the Municipal Hall without a duly approved Memorandum of Agreement and with issues regarding business permits, use of municipal electricity, and possible unauthorized representation of municipal support. Due to these concerns and the potential legal and financial liabilities for the municipality, the Sangguniang Bayan ordered the immediate suspension of the food park’s operations until the organizer secures the necessary agreements, permits, clearances, and authorizations, and until compliance is verified and acknowledged by the council. The resolution was adopted by the 12th Sangguniang Bayan during its 32nd Regular Session on February 23, 2026.
